BUG: ---------, *** leaking file handle upon operator new failure

It is hard not to be emotionally affected by *** code.

Nevertheless, ****** complains that *** leaks file handle when *********::operator new() failed. It is essentially a very simple change, but I couldn't help myself to do a clean up....
